Geek Talk: I Pre-Ordered Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag!!!

I am soooo excited for Black Flag to come out in October. I mean come ON! There’s only one thing better than assassins and pirates….and thats….

Pirate Assassins!

I was not paid or offered any form of compensation for this post*

The pre-order version comes with the “Black Island Pack”…

Captain Morgan’s favorite ship sank off the coast with a full load of legendary sailing equipment. Explore the Black Island and retrieve these items that the pirates have been desperately been searching for.

Here’s what the pack includes:

  • the dark and dangerous treasure-hunting quest: Black Island
  • the deadly Black Ship
  • legendary silver flintlock  pistols used by Captain Morgan
  • valuable multiplayer items including Captain Morgan’s costume, picture, and title

The game takes place in 1715 in the Caribbean, where pirates have established a lawless rule. You play as fearsome and brash(not to mention good-looking) Edward Kenway  Captain Edward Kenway, whose exploits earn the respect of pirate legends like Blackbeard. But these same exploits draw him into an ancient war that could demolish everything the pirates have worked so hard to build.

Edward is described as a “charismatic yet brutal pirate” who has been trained by the Assassins. He can effortlessly switch between new weaponry (including not two but four flintlock pistols and dual cutlass swords). You’ll get to explore 50 unique locations where you can live the life of a true pirate. From looting underwater shipwrecks (the Assassins have come far from the days of Altair, where you would probably drown in a puddle if there were any in the game) to hunting rare animals. Searching for treasure in lost ruins and, of course, assassinating Templar scum.

I am so excited for this game, I’ve been an AC player since the second game came out (don’t worry, I played the first one and *then* the second one lol). I’m really excited for the treasure hunting and exploring of lost ruins. I guess for me it’s a mix of three of my favorite things:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Tomb Raider (exploring ruins and treasure hunting)
  • Pirates of the Caribbean

The gameplay looks incredible and graphics are amazing! I am very much looking forward to being a bad a** pirate of the Caribbean and sailing the seas while going after Templars and treasure 🙂

till next post, Katie

You know, I’m excited about this game also….but not on this level.
    For one big reason:
ACIII was a great game…but the ending…the ending…oh my the ending.
Complete and utter garbage. This turned me off from the series. How does it even work.
I loved AC from the get-go, but how they do that to their fan base….
I understand they wanted to make a fourth game….
But why do it they way the did? (I will not go into spoiling anything, but if you played the games, you must feel me…)

Sadly, I will buy this game. Hopefully it will not ruin a great franchise.

    Arghh, damn yee land-lovers.

Sadly I have yet to finish the 3rd game, I just pre-ordered the 4th because I figured I’d love it just as the others. Now you’ve got me afraid to finish the game! lol.

I played Assassin’s Creed for the PSP a couple of years ago. It reminded me of Prince of Persia and Tombraider. I’m looking forward to this title as well! Can’t wait, in fact!

    • Katie says:

Well, to be fair, Prince of Persia is more like Assassin’s Creed, since it came out 3 years after the first AC game. Not to mention the fact they’re made by the same company lol. But yeah, Assassin’s Creed is very much like Tomb Raider in the platforming aspect. 🙂

      • Jack Flacco says:

Agreed. I found AC better by way of controls. BTW, kind of off-topic, but how did you remove the “Leave a Reply” section from your Contact page?

      • Katie says:

To remove the “Leave a Reply” prompt on a page (and I think posts too), go to your Pages tab on the Dashboard, then go to the page you want, in this case the Contact page. If you scroll down under the box where you insert the page content you’ll see a Discussion tab. If you uncheck “allow comments” it will remove the commenting section. 🙂
Also, if you don’t see the Discussion section, go up to the Screen option tabs (upper right corner of your window) and select “Discussion” to show on screen, then uncheck “allow comments”.
        hope this helps. 🙂
