Dark Eldar: Kabalite Warriors

Yay! I’ve finally had the time to sit down and write this post for you guys! I’m super excited to share my new hobby with you, and I hope you enjoy the post. 🙂  I know, really simple, but it gets the job done. As of now I don’t have a lot on there, but it will grow in time.

I fell in love the the Dark Eldar the moment I saw them on the Games Workshop website. I got the Kabalite warriors first just because I had the option to give them all helmets, which, realistically are much easier to paint and detail than faces. Here’s a look at all of them together. I had to use my Macro Lens from the Olloclip [link to review post] for the entire photo shoot (except for the larger group shots, I used the Fisheye Lens for those). I used black gold and dark purple for the color scheme, and used a glow-in-the-dark green for their eyes and poison pieces (turns out that Dark Eldar use poison on their weapons). I painted their weapons a gunmetal gray and accented them with gold as well. For hair I used a blood red color. I’m using a combination of Anita’s and Folk Art acrylic paints, you can find them at Hobby Lobby for about a dollar per bottle.

Above is a group shot. Below is Leader, equipped with a poison whip and a pistol.

Next is Lieutenant, Leader’s second in command. He carries an awesome blood-stained sword and a pistol as well.

This next one is one of my favorites. I christened her Runner (gosh I’ve got some creative names huh), well, because of her pose. In one hand she has a pistol. And I cannibalized one of the arms I didn’t need to have her holding a knife.

Here we have Head-hunter. This one is another cannibalized one (I love doing this, it provides much more customization, though it requires more patience). He’s wielding the boss pole as a sort of bloodied sword/axe thing. And in his other hand he has a blood-covered knife. And come on, I just had to do a shot of him to make him look like he was from a horror movie. 🙂

The next couple are heavy weapons units, I like to call them ‘The Twins’.

The last three are just the default units, nothing exciting here.

Now, I do have one last figure…but I let Boyfriend put her together and paint her…well, to be fair she’s no where near done. But we have named her Stumpy because the “lovely” Boyfriend cut off her arm in an attempt to pull off my awesome cannibalization skillz. =_=

I’ll have to put up a pic of her when she’s done….if she’s ever finished…lol.

till next post, Katie

I can’t believe you painted these, they look so professional. Well done. Also I think the colour scheme is really cool 🙂 x

Aw thanks! That’s really sweet of you. I, naturally, don’t think they look very professional. But I will get better with practice. 🙂
