Hello my geeks! How’ve you been? Good? Good! Today I’m revealing the contents of my first Loot Crate, a monthly subscription box just for geeks! The cool thing about Loot Crate is that each month has a different theme for it’s items, and this month’s theme was Covert.
Basic overview, this box came with a tee, mad libs, the first copy of a comic series called Orphan Black that I’m now curious about (haven’t actually made myself take it out of the plastic yet), two small “field notes” books, a neat new “spy” watch, a Loot Crate exclusive survival bracelet, pin, Agents of Shield lanyard, a download code for a free copy of Ninjak #1, and the little magazine with info on this month’s items.
This is a Loot Crate exclusive version of the blinktime watch, a watch that only shows the time if you’ve pressed a “secret” button on the center of the watch face. It will be lit for about a minute and then disappear again. It’s fairly comfortable, and kind of cool looking. The material feels admittedly a little flimsy, so I’m not sure how long it’ll hold up. But considering I don’t wear watches it should last a while. Lol.
The next couple of things were a Spy Mad Libs book and two small 48 page note books labeled “Field Notes: Confidential”. Mad Libs are always fun on roadtrips, and maybe I can use the note books for more post ideas.
They also sent along a cute little pin to match this month’s theme, with pictures of different “spy” gear. I’ll have to find somewhere to stick this, or maybe get a shadowbox to display it in along with the other pins I may get later on.
I thought that this Authentic Prop Replica of the Agents of Shield lanyard was pretty awesome. I’m a huge Marvel fan, and I’ve been kicking myself for not having started watching this show (I don’t get a lot of tv time sadly).
Best for last right guys? The tee plays homage to the possibly best known spy, James Bond, and his famous saying “Shaken, not stirred.” Sadly for the adorable tee-shirt-Bond, his drink is stirred. The shirt fits well, I wear a women’s medium. However, since it’s white and a women’s shirt I do feel like it is a little sheer.
What did you guys think of the Loot Crate? What’s your favorite subscription box?
