Hello everybody, Katie here, and NOT the Katie you are used to! I’m Katie from ThatGeekOnline and today I have the pleasure of doing a collab with Katie here at The Beautiful Geek. Since we both blog about beauty and geek culture, what better way to collab than with a makeup look inspired by our favorite superheros? Katie chose Iron Man, and you can read her entire post and makeup look over on my blog. I chose Batman, because Batman is incredible and I’m going to explain to you why, followed by a makeup look.
First things first, Batman wears all black, at least in the newest films. I wear all black. I’m not saying Batman and I are the same person….but think about it…
But all joking aside, Bruce Wayne never gained any superpowers, he simply saw problems and decided to slap on some leather and solve them. I’ve always been more of a fan of Batman than any other comic book hero, because the movies have a dark tone to that and I like that. The villains are definitely twisted and its more psychologically thrilling than any other in my opinion. Wow, I never thought I would use such big words to describe Batman, I thought this entire bat-post was going to be bat-filled with bat-puns.
Are you sick of my fangirling yet? Yes? I’ll get on with the makeup look then!
So for my Batman makeup, I was inspired by his blue and black outfit. Batman is definitely dark and he is DEFINITELY dramatic. All that pent up sadness, and rage, and fear of bats. So I figured the best way to represent the batman would be with the bat-winged liner. I regret nothing about that pun.
I used Maybelline’s Dream LumiTouch concealer as a base all over the lid and set it with some powder, just to keep the eyeliner from smudging/creasing. I then went in with Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Liner and created a line from the outer corner of my eye to just below my eyebrow, and filled that in right to my inner corner. I wanted the liner to be very dramatic as it is the focus of this look. Next was the fun part! I went in with my Eye Kandy Cosmetics blue glitter and the Liquid Sugar to create a blue liner over top of the black wing. This adds such a fun pop of color to the look and gives it that Batman feel. I finished up with QUITE a few coats of mascara and that was the finished look. I know it is simple compared to Katie’s Iron Man look, but Iron Man always was showy, whereas Batman was simple and dark. I think this makeup represents those traits well.
Here’s a bat-list of all the bat-products (still not sorry):
