This week’s quote is from a movie…and I’m pretty sure Will Smith was in it? But for the life of me I can’t remember which one. Anyhow, this one struck pretty deep with me…
You should never, ever, doubt yourself or your abilities. And you should never let anybody tell you that you’re less than what you really are. Especially if that person is you. In a world where everybody is going to tell you that you aren’t good enough, or that you can’t do it, or won’t be able to do it, you are the last person on this planet that should be helping to tear yourself and your self esteem down. There are thousands of people already trying to do that for you – don’t help them.
Love yourself. Trust yourself. Confide in yourself and know that you CAN do it. You ARE capable and you are NOT hopeless. Even if that means that people think you’re vain or over confident. If it means that you believe in yourself then so be it.
We hold ourselves back from trying new things and going after the things we want because the world around us says “you can’t”. And after a while – after a lifetime of listening to that voice – we begin to believe it. We begin to tell ourselves “I can’t” instead of “oh yes I can” and “I will”.
We keep ourselves from reaching so many goals and lifelong dreams just by listening to the voices that don’t matter. Break free of the chains of doubt and raise yourself up. Tell yourself that you can, even if you don’t believe it. Because eventually…you will.
