Hiya Geeks! For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you already got a sneak peek at what I got in this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag. But today is the day that we take a good look at everything that I got and my thoughts on each item. Let’s get started!
First of all, how friggen cute is this month’s bag?! I seriously think that it’s my favorite bag that I’ve received. This month’s theme was Sugar Highness, so everything this month was all glam and girly. I think this will become my go-to makeup bag for travel now. ❤
Now on to the products!
The first one is this Nourishing Argan Oil Deep Hydrating Conditioning Treatment by Marc Anthony. It’s sulfate free, so it’s great for those of us with color-treated hair. The argan oil and keratin is also there to help restore and nourish weak, dry, and damaged hair.
The idea of a new weekly hair treatment for my hair was exciting (I currently use L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm and am in love – it smells soooo good). So I used this in place of my normal weekly treatment.
The conditioner smells amazing, and I was looking forward to the benefits of the argan oil and vitamin E. However…I noticed that by midday the next day my hair was looking limp and oily, not a good look. So if your hair is naturally oily like mine it’s probably best to avoid this one. But, if you’ve got dry, frizzy, overprocessed hair it’ll most likely work wonders.
And lucky me, Ipsy sent me 2 nail polishes in a row! This month I got a mini polish by Formula X in Dollface, a super cute light pink.
I’m definitely going to have to try other polishes by Formula X, because I immediately fell in love with the formula of this one! It’s the most gorgeous understated pink ever – you can bet I’m going to be purchasing the full sized bottle of this color.
Even better, this baby held up for a full 5 days before I got my first chip. That’s an astonishing record considering how hard my job is on my hands (and I spent one of those days out on the boat with my parents fishing). Two huge thumbs up for this one!
The next product is one that I don’t have a lot of experience with – a Liquid Illuminator by NYX.
I tried this a couple of different ways, and both seemed to work really well. I first tried mixing it with my normal foundation, which led to a nice overall glow to my face. I also used small amounts on the high points of my face (cheekbones, bridge of my nose, etc) as a highlighter, which actually worked really well. The color I got, Gleam, is a pretty shimmery bronze. You’d think it would be overpowering but it goes on quite naturally and a little goes a longgggg way. I’ve been using this almost every time I put a full face of makeup on.
Trust Fund Beauty made it into 2 bags in a row – not that I’m complaining – and this month I was gifted with a matte liquid lipstick (Zach is convinced that I have a severe lipstick addiction as well as polish problem now). This one is called K’bye.
(excuse the dramatic picture…still getting a hang of photographing myself for “beauty” uses) I absolutely love the formula of this liquid lipstick, and the color is even better – a very wearable dark mauve. She’s also got some great lasting power as well. Something I’m always after…because I like to eat too much. I swear it’s a problem, seems like right after I apply any lip product I feel the need to devour a cow. XD
Lastly is a new multi-purpose moisturizer by This Works, the In Transit Camera Closeup Moisturizer.
This is a mask, moisturizer and primer all in one guys! So I’ve been using this during my morning routine and my normal moisturizer at night. Guys. I love this product. It’s so moisturizing and it leaves my face feeling soft and ready to take on anything. It’s also a really great primer, and I love being able to cut out one step to my beauty process (who doesn’t?). It’s even got caffeine in it the help remove signs of fatigue – something my under eye circles thank me for. Love. Love. Love. Going to be getting my hands on a full size tube. Def.
Anyhow…that’s a wrap guys. Hope you guys enjoyed what you got in your Ipsy bags. What was your favorite this about this month’s items?
