Happy Sunday afternoon loves! I hope your weekend was fun and refreshing, and that you’re all prepped and ready for the coming week! Let’s have a chat about dreams. And not the recurring zombie apocalypse dreams or the one where your dog starts telling everyone how he watches you when you pee. I’m talking about your aspirations, your goals.
That’s right ladies and gents. If your dreams don’t scare you, then you just aren’t doing it right.
Point being that dreams aren’t supposed to about playing it safe. Those are what plans are for. Dreams are those that you would have to drop everything and move out of state (or country) to pursue. Risking your life savings on a business. Even if it’s going bungee jumping or skydiving.
There’s a reason why we think that those that are following their dreams are brave – it’s because the idea of risking it all for something that may or may not work out is terrifying. That’s how it’s supposed to be. Because if you follow that dream, it could become everything you’ve ever thought it would be. But at the same time you could fail – and fail miserably. Here’s the catch though. You’ll never know unless you try. And those dreams of yours? They will forever remain just that. A dream.
Too many people avoid pursuing their dreams because they are afraid of the bad outcomes. That girl that wants to be a journalist in New York stays in her small town as a waitress because she’s afraid that if she moves to that big city she won’t fit in, that she won’t succeed, and that at the end of it all she’ll fail and have to leave for home with her tail tucked between her legs. Nobody likes to fail at anything. So of course jumping for that dream is scary.
But I can guarantee that if you never take that leap you will regret it for all of your life.
