September 2017 Favorites

I’ve decided that a good way to spice up this blog would be to start doing a monthly summary of all of the products I’ve been using a lot of and loving over the past month. (AKA – a list of my monthly favorites). It’ll be a good way for you to see what things I’m liking and maybe you’ll want to try some stuff for yourself. Maybe these things are things you’ve wanted to try but just haven’t felt like investing in (money or otherwise).

I guess before we get started I should make it clear that I am not being paid for mentioning ANY of the items below. These are all items that I bought myself and have really loved using, and think that my readers might like them too.

If you’re interested in any of these items, I’ve left a link where you can buy them below each image.

Coffee Cozies by Heartmade By Emily

These coffee cozies have had me giddy with delight allll month long, and it’s becoming quite a problem. My sister originally gave me one as a gift last Christmas, but it quickly became an addiction. It’s just so fun to swap them out depending on my mood.

Each one of the cozies is handmade by Emily, who has been selling them on Etsy for about a year now. I’ve never had anything but pleasant experiences with my orders, which usually take about a week to get sent out and received in the mail since she makes each one to order.

First Aid Beauty Skincare

It’s been a long time since I’ve found a skincare line that has worked really well for me. I was a diehard fan of the Wexler Skincare line for acne prone skin, but since it was discontinued I have been bouncing from one line to the next without full satisfaction.

Then I decided to give First Aid Beauty (or F.A.B.) a go after I received a jar of their extreme moisturizer in a subscription box. Naturally, I went for the Acne Prone line, which is said to prevent breakouts, control oil & minimize pores. I use the Deep Cleanser, a really nice gel-like cleanser, every morning when I wake up. Then I use the Daily Face Cream moisturizer twice a day after cleansing. I love how all of the items in this line are oil free! At night I use an exfoliating cleanser from another brand (the F.A.B. one just wasn’t as “scrubby” as I’d like). And about once or twice a week I use the Purifying Mask with Red Clay to give myself a nice deep cleanse and some relaxation time. It’s a gel peel-off mask that makes my skin feel super clean and refreshed.

I’ve been using these for a little over a month now, and only recently needed to buy a replacement moisturizer. My skin has cleared up a LOT, and it’s helped reduce breakouts for sure – I usually break out worst close to my period, and even then I’ve only gotten a couple of spots!

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

I used to be a hardcore BareMinerals addict, but out of the blue I decided to try this out, mostly to see if it was as good as I’ve heard it is. I haven’t touched my BareMinerals items since. AND I’ve already bought a replacement tube. XD

This feels just soooo nice on my skin, smells nice, applies like a dream, and it stays put! I started applying this before going to work, and now I can’t stand to go in without it on my face. Even on my worst days when I haven’t gotten much sleep it helps cover and even things out so wonderfully, I rarely even need to use under-eye concealer.

Plus, it’s SPF 50+, which is a good bit more than BareMinerals.

Wuthering Heights Polish by A-England

I originally bought this from LiveLovePolish, my go-to shop for indie polishes. However, as of the time I’m writing this post it’s not in stock, so the link below the image goes directly to A-England’s site where you can currently still purchase it.

This is a gorgeous smoky gray-mauve with a hint of holo shimmer tossed in, making this the perfect color for Fall. I got so many compliments while wearing this! It’s rich, creamy, super smooth formula goes on opaque in 1 coat, though I always use 2.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my list of September favorites. What were some of your favorite items to use last month? Have you tried any of the items in my list? What were your thoughts?
