January’s Theme was Metropolis, so I already knew these items would have a very glam-modern feel to them. This bag was all about that city life and for the working gal. Needless to say, I’m no “city girl” but I definitely work my butt off, so I was looking forward to some great items.
Coffee? Check. Lip gloss? Check. Taxi fare? Check. Here, everything you need to own the concrete jungle.
This month’s glam bag featured a really cute and modern layered metallic blue bag.
ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder – Peach Bellini
This blush is a SUPER pigmented peachy-pink powder with a wonderful, almost creamy formula. It applies really well! A little goes a long way with this blush, unless you’re going for that sun-kissed clown look of course.
Lasting Smiles Lip Balm – Passion Fruit & Mango
I’m a fan of anything that can make my lips more hydrated, as they’re always chapped or peeling – but it’s a risk you take I suppose when you’re addicted to lip colors…some of which aren’t very hydrating. This lip balm not only smells amazing and fresh but not too fruity, but it’s made with all natural ingredients! With coconut, sunflower, shea, and cocoa butters, plus beeswax and jojoba oil and a healthy dose of Vitamin E, this is a great post-winter lip balm to help get rid of those cold weather induced chapped lips. How could this get any better? It can – every purchase of a Lasting Smiles lip balm helps fund cleft surgeries for children! Helping you and a child in need? Double score.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics 3 in 1 Eyeshadow – Fantasy
Yay for another eyeshadow to add to my collection! I’m a huge fan of bronze shadows, it’s a neutral enough shade that you can wear it for any occasion, but shimmery enough to (literally) add some sparkle to any look. This one kills 3 birds with one stone though, it can be used as a shadow, highlighter OR blush shade! It’s also well pigmented, so you don’t need much to create a big impact.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination
Yessssss I love IT Cosmetics so much. I’ve had the original Bye Bye Under Eye for a long time, but only use it when I desperately need that extra coverage because it tends to feel very heavy. However, this newer formula not only does really well to illuminate the under eye area (without sparkles to “catch the light”) but it’s super light and applies very well. Something tells me that I’ll be investing in a full size of this. ❤
Ciate London Gelology Top Coat
I’ve heard amazing things about Ciate London, but I’ve never wanted to try them enough to get a bottle or two for myself. So when I got this top coat in my bag I was thrilled. I love testing new nail products, especially any that are supposed to give your mani a gel look and last. The Gelology Top Coat did well with the first, I definitely got a super glossy shine. However, it was the later that it sort of flunked out on. I originally used it over a Wet n Wild Megalast polish, the next day my polish was peeling as though I had a peel off base coat on. The next time I used a Formula X polish, and the same thing happened! I was incredibly disappointed by this top coat, it couldn’t even withstand 2 days of wear.
Overall January’s Metropolis bag was a good bag, with the one unfortunate disappointment. But you win some and you lose some right?
